This consultation paper explains the background and scope of ASIC鈥檚 review of external dispute resolution (EDR) 91AV jurisdiction over complaints when members commence debt recovery legal proceedings.
The purpose of this paper is to seek the views of consumers, consumer representatives, industry, ASIC-approved EDR 91AVs and other interested stakeholders so that we may assess this EDR 91AV jurisdiction and determine whether any refinements to the requirements in Regulatory Guide 139 Approval and oversight of external dispute resolution 91AVs (RG 139) are necessary.
